GES Announces Verification Exercise for Applicants with Date of Birth Irregularities

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has scheduled a verification and interview exercise for applicants whose requests for date of birth corrections were declined over major inconsistencies.

In an official notice issued from the GES Headquarters in Accra on 21st April 2026, the Service indicated that the exercise is being organised in partnership with the Public Services Commission (PSC). This follows earlier communication from the Commission, which revealed that some applications were rejected because the differences in the declared dates of birth exceeded a five-year margin.

Objective of the Exercise

The exercise is intended to offer affected applicants the opportunity to present their cases before a review panel. A designated committee will assess original documents and interact with applicants to address discrepancies identified in their date of birth records.

GES further stressed that the process will be conducted in line with PSC guidelines to ensure fairness, consistency, and transparency.

Date and Venue

The verification session has been arranged as follows:

Date: Thursday, 23rd April 2026

Time: 10:00 a.m.

Venue: Public Services Commission Conference Room, Accra

Important Instructions

Regional Directors have been directed to notify all affected applicants within their respective regions without delay to prevent any eligible individual from missing the exercise.

Applicants are required to attend in person and present original copies of all documents previously submitted. These documents will be carefully reviewed during the process.

Additional Information

GES also indicated that further details from the PSC’s correspondence have been attached for reference. Applicants seeking clarification may contact the Legal Unit at the GES Headquarters.

Final Note

This exercise forms part of ongoing efforts by GES and the Public Services Commission to address issues related to discrepancies in applicants’ date of birth records. All affected individuals are strongly advised to comply with the directive and attend as scheduled, as the outcome may influence their placement within the Service.
