NTC Reschedules Start Date for 2026 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE)

The National Teaching Council has announced the rescheduling of the commencement date for the 2026 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination.

The update is intended to inform candidates and other stakeholders about the revised starting date for the national examination.

In a notice issued on 16th March 2026, the Council indicated that the examination, which was initially scheduled to begin on Monday, 23rd March 2026, will now commence on Tuesday, 24th March 2026.

Reason for the Rescheduling

The change follows the declaration of Monday, 23rd March 2026 as a statutory public holiday. As a result, the start of the examination has been moved by one day to ensure the smooth administration of the exercise.

Revised Examination Schedule

The updated timetable for the examination is as follows:

Tuesday, 24th March 2026 – General Professional Knowledge

Wednesday, 25th March 2026 – Grade-Level Specialism Pedagogy

Thursday, 26th March 2026 – Multiple Subjects Content / Single Subject Specialism

Notice to Candidates

The National Teaching Council has clarified that aside from the revised commencement date, all other arrangements remain unchanged. Candidates are therefore advised to take note of the new date and prepare accordingly.

The Council also expressed appreciation to candidates for their cooperation and apologised for any inconvenience the change may cause.
