Urgent Notice from Teachers’ Fund: All Teachers Advised to Verify Names and Update Records – Full Details

Teachers’ Fund Ghana has issued an important directive to all members, urging them to verify and ensure proper alignment of their personal information across all recognised institutional records to prevent administrative challenges and delays in accessing services.

In an official notice dated 13th July 2026, the Fund emphasised the need for absolute consistency in the spelling, arrangement, and format of members’ names across four key records, namely:

▪ Ghana Education Service (GES) employment records

▪ Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) payroll records as reflected on payslips

▪ Ghana Card or other valid identification documents

▪ Teachers’ Fund membership records

The Fund noted that discrepancies in members’ personal details have, over time, created avoidable difficulties in the processing of official transactions. Such inconsistencies may affect banking processes, including the cashing of Teachers’ Fund cheques, as well as the smooth processing of loan applications, contribution refunds, retirement benefits, beneficiary claims, and other essential services.

Members who identify variations or inaccuracies in their records are required to commence the necessary correction procedures through the appropriate administrative channels.

The rectification process involves submitting a formal request through the Head of School or relevant Management Unit, after which the request will proceed through the District Education Directorate and Regional Education Directorate before being forwarded to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service for the required amendments.

Teachers’ Fund has therefore encouraged all members to treat this exercise with the utmost importance and ensure timely compliance. Proper verification and record alignment will contribute significantly to efficient service delivery, protection of members’ interests, and the smooth processing of future financial and administrative transactions.
