GES Clarifies Recruitment Process with Release of Official Timeline

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced key dates for its 2026 teacher recruitment exercise, providing long-awaited clarity for thousands of applicants seeking employment within the Service.

In an official statement issued on June 23, 2026, and signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi (Mrs.), Deputy Director-General responsible for Management Services, GES reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent, merit-based, and well-structured recruitment process.

According to the Service, all applications received are currently undergoing a thorough review to ensure that applicants satisfy the eligibility requirements outlined in the recruitment advertisement. The verification exercise is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026.

GES further disclosed that the list of shortlisted candidates will be released on July 20, 2026, after which onboarding activities will commence across the various regional and district offices.

The onboarding process is scheduled to take place between July 20 and August 31, 2026, with successful applicants expected to officially assume duty on August 31, 2026.

Management expressed appreciation to applicants for their patience, cooperation, and confidence throughout the recruitment exercise. The Service also encouraged individuals seeking additional information to contact the Public Relations Unit at the GES Headquarters through its official communication channels.

The announcement is expected to ease uncertainty among applicants and offers a clear roadmap for the remaining stages of the recruitment process as GES continues efforts to strengthen the teaching workforce across the country.
