GES Suspends Salary of Bole SHS Teacher
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has frozen the salary of a Bole Senior High School teacher accused of engaging in an inappropriate sexual affair with a female student within the school's science laboratory.
According to the GES, the teacher has absconded and failed to report for duty since the allegations surfaced. The Service has subsequently referred the case to the Ghana Police Service, urging law enforcement officials to apprehend the suspect and conduct a thorough investigation.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, July 1, the Director-General of the GES, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, revealed that the teacher will face both criminal prosecution and internal disciplinary actions once detained.
He clarified that the individual was initially interdicted, but his financial compensation was later withheld following his failure to resume his duties.
Professor Davis underscored that the GES remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding students and upholding discipline within academic institutions, asserting that the Service will enforce the severest disciplinary penalties if the allegations are substantiated.
