FWSC Invites Teacher Unions and Key Stakeholders to a Meeting to Renew Conditions of Service.

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has formally invited the leadership of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) together with other key stakeholders in the education sector to an important meeting aimed at addressing the Conditions of Service for teaching staff under the Ghana Education Service.

In a communication issued by the Commission, the engagement is intended to begin official discussions that will shape and review the working conditions of teachers. This development is expected to play a key role in ongoing efforts to strengthen the welfare and professional environment of teaching staff across the country.

According to the details provided, the meeting has been scheduled to take place on Monday, 13th April 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The venue for the engagement will be the FWSC Conference Room, where representatives of the various institutions are expected to converge for the discussions.

The primary agenda for the meeting will focus on the signing of the Rules of Engagement, which will guide the conduct of all parties throughout the deliberation process. This step is considered essential in ensuring a structured, transparent, and productive dialogue among stakeholders.

The Commission emphasised that the presence and active participation of all invited parties will be highly appreciated, as the meeting marks the official commencement of discussions on the Conditions of Service for teachers within the Ghana Education Service.

It is also important to note that this latest communication replaces an earlier notice issued on the same subject, making this invitation the valid and current directive for all stakeholders involved.

The invitation was signed by Dr. Baaba Anquandah, Director of Salary Administration, on behalf of the Chief Executive of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission.

Stakeholders expected at the meeting include the General Secretary of GNAT, the Presidents of NAGRAT and PRETAG, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, and the Head of the Compensation Policy Management Unit at the Ministry of Finance.

This meeting is anticipated to set the tone for further engagements that will influence policies affecting teachers and the broader education sector.
